Magna Science Adventure Centre: Dig, Dino, Discover (2026)

Get ready for a prehistoric adventure like no other, as Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham gears up for a summer filled with roaring dinosaurs and interactive fun!

A Dino-Mite Summer

From July 18th to September 4th, 2026, Magna is bringing back its beloved dinosaurs for an exciting program called 'Dig, Dino, Discover'. This unique experience promises to transport visitors back in time, offering a blend of education and entertainment for the whole family.

Ferocious Fridays

The summer season kicks off with a bang on Ferocious Fridays, featuring the return of RentaDinosaur's live interactive show, 'How to Train Your Dinosaur'. Running on July 31st and every Friday in August, this show will introduce a new dinosaur each week, keeping the excitement fresh for returning visitors. With performances at 11 am and 1 pm, it's a great way to start the weekend with a roar!

Up Close and Personal with Prehistoric Beasts

But the fun doesn't stop there! Throughout the day, visitors will have the chance to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. Dinosaurs will be roaming the halls of Magna, welcoming visitors of all ages for head pats, hugs, and memorable photo opportunities. It's a unique chance to connect with these ancient creatures and create lasting memories.

A Full Day of Dino-Themed Activities

In addition to the live shows, Magna has a full lineup of dinosaur-themed activities to keep everyone entertained. From building and erupting model volcanoes in the Volcanoes Workshop to handling genuine fossils in the Fossil Dig Workshop, there's something for every young (and young at heart) explorer. For the little ones, there are Dino Story and Play sessions, and Dino Crafts where they can unleash their creativity and make their own dinosaur-themed masterpieces.

A Summer of STEM and Splash

Of course, Magna's existing attractions will also be open, offering a well-rounded summer experience. From the Aqua-Tek splash park to the Sci-Tek Adventure Playground, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. And for those looking to dive deeper into STEM, the Under 5s STEM Play area provides a fun and educational space.

A Word from Magna's Family Learning Coordinator

Emily Walsh, Magna's Family Learning Coordinator, shared her enthusiasm: "We're thrilled to invite everyone to Dig, Dino, Discover at Magna this summer. With a new dinosaur each week and our engaging 'How to Train Your Dinosaur' show, we're ready for some dino-mite family fun!"
